These books…These books are so good! I read them and then immediately proceeded in buying whatever else the author had written. I will also buy and read everything else their author wants to write. They are THAT good!
In no particular order, with no particular genre…Let’s begin!
Klara and the Sun

This sci-fi is amazing!
It’s the story told from a robot’s point of view. Klara is an Artificial Friend who is adopted by a family and becomes a little girl’s friend. The little girl is sick and that makes Klara turn to the Sun as a god, the powerful being that breaths life into her.
The way Klara talks and the way it understands the world is just perfect to watch and feel along her side.
Kazuo Ishiguro is now one of my favourite writers. I plan to read absolutely every one of his books!

Project Hail Mary

This book talks about a possible end of the world. Scientist unite to prevent it, but that is not the most important thing about it!
Sadly, I cannot say what this book is about without any spoilers, suffice it to say it takes the idea of collaborating to whole new level.
The details Andy Weir puts in there are next level. His science is accurate, his cultural references awesome, his jokes are funny! It is just the best read possible!
Because of this book, I also read Andy Weir’s “The Martian” and “Artemis”. They are good, but not as good as this one. However, given the way his writing evolved, I will read EVERYTHING Andy Weir ever publishes from now on.

The Midnight Library

Do you know the Canadian series “Being Erica”? I loved that show! I was so, so, so sad when it got cancelled! It was this year that I read “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig and it reminded me of it so, so much!
“The Midnight Library” is all about the roads not taken in life and answering – what would my life look like if only I had…you fill in the gaps.
It made me dream with possibilities for my own life and understand how my life fits into everything. This library is a magical place where you can choose a book and step into a different life. See what would’ve happen differently.
It is just a perfect read for when you are a bit sad, a bit dissatisfied with your life. It made me read two other books by the same author and I will definitely buy whatever else he writes from now on.

I Must Betray You

This book was about a teenager living in Communist Romania. He falls in love, but because of the regime, he can’t trust anyone. Not a potential girlfriend, not his friends, not even his own family.
The level of detail about the regime, about life during that time was astounding to me. There are things I didn’t even know. The picture it paints is complete and terrifying!
The way this book kept me in it made me understand Ruta Sepetys is a wonderful author, so diligent in creating an authentic atmosphere I will read absolutely anything else she publishes.

The Schopenhauer Cure

Irvin Yalom is an American existential psychiatrist, professor of psychiatry at Stanford University.
“The Schopenhauer Cure” is a fiction book, the first book I read by him. Since then, I have also read “When Nietzche Wept”, “Lying on the Couch”, “Momma and the Meaning of Life” and “The Spinoza Problem” and I will continue reading all his fiction work because it is just amazing!
These books helped me understand myself better. Stories in there have a real basis – real discussions that the author had with his patients. His insights into their problems made me understand how important therapy is and how an objective outside perspective is so beneficial.
Even more than that…the stories themselves are fascinating and the writing will keep glued to the pages!

These were all fantastic books for me! I hope that they’ll find a place in your heart as well and that you’ll fall in love with their writer too!
If you have already read some of them, please, please, please let me know if you liked them as well! 🥰
